If I would leak something, I would make sure the device is clean, the camera is in focus and there is enough light.

Why are leaked images (almost) always such bad quality?

A MacBook trackpad does NOT need a click to register.
You can change the settings so that you do not need to click at all, it simply takes your touch as a click. I use it in this way all the time, I NEVER click the touchpad.

Yes but you do not need to use it as a physical button.
You can use the MacBook 100% without EVER clicking the physical button.
The trackpad can be setup in System Preferences to respond to a touch as a click rather than a physical click. That is the way I have used it from days one and I have no issues with it at all.

I always question the sanity of people who use laptops this way.

Can someone tell me how can a small SD card be able to hold 2t. If this is the case why are most External HD so much bigger?
It doesn't at the moment. The biggest capacities are 64GB. The standard allows for cards up to 2TB, when they eventually arrive (maybe in 5-10 years).

You are absolutely correct. We should only compare dual-processor Apple computers to other dual-processor computers. Please list your benchmarks for a dual-processor Dell, HP/Compaq, or Gateway personal computer.

Yep, sounds good. I likes me some OS updates.

Rack up another one (10.4.9) in December followed by another just before Leopard (10.4.10) and I reckon we'd be done.

Looks nice. Doesn't do anything for me since I would want it wired for online gaming. My real question is this, did they solve the RRoD. If they did, i might have to pick one of these baby's up when my 360 dies the next time (I'm on #4 or 5. I lost count!)

so then how will it work exactly when i turn all the PN's on? Will i get alerts in the form of a text message? or will it have a little number in the corner of the app??

It's a sound, "text message" box, and "badge" (a little number on the icon for the app). Or any combination that you choose.

It is not a traditional text message. It won't show up in your SMS, and you don't have to delete it. It's just a notification.

Interesting concept, but their website (http://www.eneco.com/) scares me away in a hurry. What was that about making a good first impression?

What is wrong with it? The only thing I see is that they are presenting the Peltier Effect as if it was something they discovered and not already in common use. These chips have been produced on an industrial scale for many years. They don't say this.

Here is another company who has a real product to for sale http://www.melcor.com/ Here is one more - http://www.customthermoelectric.com/ It's a mature technology These guys at eneco seem to be selling a concept and have no product.

But who are they trying to fool? Anyone in a position to buy from eneco would have engineers on staff who certainly would already understand thermoelectrics

Considering that this is in Beta and probably will be for a year, I don't think their risking losing sales to PPC people since its not for sale right now....by that time, a lot more people will be running Intel Macs. Perfect time to sell a nice polished product.

I would be astonished to find it on a faster machine like the 17" iMac. Point No. 2: Don't take anybody's word for it. Drive down to your nearest Apple retailer. Look at the machines yourself. That should end all arguments.

I have a recent ibook running jaguar - it has had a clean install (twice) and, quite frankly, its annoyingly slow. This is a current mac, running its current os, and its hardly acceptable - running illustrator? expect the beach ball, the same with large word documents. And I still see the beachball with annoying frequency in the finder. I don't care that this isnt the top of the range 3,000 quid machine - it is stupid to only expect acceptable performance in Word on the top of the line machine. No, don't take my word for it, go have a look at a fully loaded i-book

Again, have your actually seen this "choppiness" on that $2000 machine with the brand new OS? Now for the issue of MHz, browse the web sites of the expensive UNIX workstations and servers. Look at the clock speeds of the offerings from IBM, HP, SGI, and Sun. For the most part, you will see that their machines have clock speeds in the sub-GHz range. Yet these are the machines of choice when price is no object and the job must get done. Just think about this: these boards are filled with laments that effectively tell you that you need substaintially higher clock speeds to run a computer game than you need to simulate the gas flow in a jet engine. Don't you think that something is just a bit warped here?

these machines are 64-bit, with floating point performance that widdles all over apples current offerings. The reason they are used is for this feature alone - and yepI would rather run my simulations on a sparc box than a pc, although the cost of a cheap linux box is pushing us down that route. At some point there is a balance between cost and performance. Yes it is odd that I need the fastest box around to run ut2k3 acceptably, and i agree there is something wrong with the way the market is being driven, but I suppose if thats what customers want (and are prepared to pay for), this is what they'll get....

Think. Think. Think. Apple does not "appear" to be purposesly crippling its systems. The entirity of the corporation orbits about the Macintosh. No company would purposely cripple its central product. The fact that Apple is only one of two profitable personal computer manufacturers serve as loud testimony to the contrary. Just because a bunch of idle college students post things on the Internet does not make them so.

never intentionally 'crippled' a machine? what about teh video card on teh ibook?

I think it's safe to say that we're all getting tired of waiting for the next "worlds fastest personal notebook super computer" thats slower than the competition. Yeah core 2 duo is just shipping, but its shipping. I'm getting extremely pissed and I don't want to buy something that specs out slower than the next guy for a few hundred more.

This better be a super frickin case redesign.

I'm an audio and motion graphics professional and am not entirely confident on where apple has taken Logic, amongst other recent decisions. I just really pray that the pro-sumer market doesn't become their primary target.

Just another early Tuesday morning grump post.
